Studio Spaces Available right now @ Spice Art Studios

There are currently (April 2008) two studios available at Spice Art Studios , both with large windows and good natural light along with easy access to River Side Park and all other amenities located on Bitterne Triangle, Bitterne Park, Southampton.

Studio 1: A large space with bay window and high ceilings. 13.5m2 is available now at £250 per calendar month inclusive.

Studio 3: A medium space with large window and good wall space. 11m2 is available now at £190 per calendar month inclusive. Studios are let as simple white spaces, which artists are can adapt so as to better support their practice.

The Colour Factory

The Colour Factory is an artist's studio group of five professional artists, working in a variety of media including visual arts, textiles and contemporary jewellery. Under The Colour Factory flag we work together producing imaginative community and educational projects. If you would like to join the mailing list for exhibitions, events and workshops, see the website below.

The Colour Factory provides a variety of interesting opportunities for visitors, including: Creative Jewellery Birthday Parties (for adults or children aged 9 years and up; classes covering a range of skills such as jewellery, textiles, mixed media, and painting; and a Children's Saturday Art Club coming soon. Workshops

Making Space run workshops for all ages and abilities. 'We welcome complete beginners - you'll be surprised at what you can achieve in just one day!'

The workshop programme includes one-day taster workshops and longer programmes and all are taught by professional makers who are specialists in their field. Current workshops and courses include a variety for Adults, Family Saturday Workshops, Children's Holiday Workshops and After School Clubs.

Street Art

The Making's Street Art programme for young people will be running digital photography workshops and video diaries at The Popley Festival, Popley Fields Community Centre, Carpenters Down, Popley, Basingstoke 11am - 4pm on Sunday 18 May 08, and at Basingstoke Live Music Festival, War Memorial Park, Basingstoke, 11-13 July.

The Theatre of Making

The Making's very popular Theatre of Making, the UK's first touring participatory crafts programme, is open to all age groups and abilities. It allows the public to meet and watch leading artists at work, learn about materials and processes and experience the pleasure of 'hands-on' making. The Theatre of Making will be at: Alive and Kicking Party in the Park at Walpole Park, Gosport 10.00 am - 4.00 pm on Saturday 27 July 2008.

Balloons over Basingstoke, War Memorial Park, Basingstoke 12pm-6pm on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd August 2008.

All the workshops are free but first come, first served. Be sure to be there early on the day to book a place.
